Sacred Grounds: From Story to Calling

All are welcome in Church. All are called to Ministry. We believe where there is love, there is God.

RT. REV. MARIANN BUDDE, 153 BISHOPS: The question facing America — Whose dignity matters?

We, the undersigned bishops of The Episcopal Church, write today out of grief, righteous anger, and steadfast hope. What happened a week ago in Minnesota, and is happening in communities across the country, runs counter to God’s vision of justice and peace.....

Welcome to the episcopal church in idaho

Get to know more about what makes us different.

In the Episcopal Church of Idaho, we are a vibrant community built on a foundation of radical welcome and a profound love for all people. We believe that you are a beloved child of God, exactly as you are. That truth doesn't change based on your political affiliation, your gender identity, your ethnic origin, or your immigration status. You belong.

We follow the example of Jesus, who consistently crossed boundaries and broke down walls to connect with people. As an infant, he was an immigrant seeking refuge in Egypt. Throughout his ministry, he identified with the marginalized, lived among people of different cultures like the Samaritans,  and taught that love is our highest calling.

Therefore, our mission is to embody that love in the world. We are called:
  • To love without judgment and offer kindness to all who seek goodness and acceptance.
  • To stand courageously for justice and be a voice for trust and compassion.
  • To walk alongside all who are suffering, offering comfort and unwavering support.
Whoever you are and wherever you are on your journey, there is a place for you here. Come join us as we strive to build a more just, kind, and loving world together. You are welcome here.

The Rt. Rev. Jos Tharakan | 14th Bishop of Idaho

February: The Heart of TransfigurationDivine Love, in this season where we transition toward the mountain of Transfiguration, remind us that we are precious in your sight. As we celebrate love, let it not be a selfish or narrow love. Soften the hearts hardened by political strife. Teach us that our "neighbor" includes the one whose opinions frustrate us. We are all your handiwork. Let your light t...

January: The Epiphany of New BeginningsLord of Light, as the star guided the Magi, let your Epiphany guide us out of the shadows of isolation. Break the scales of prejudice from our eyes. May we realize that the same breath yo...
When Humanity is Eroded
October 21st, 2025
A few days ago, one of our lay ministers called me with a story that has lingered heavily in my heart. He was ministering to a young couple with a one-year-old child when immigration authorities stopped them. The young father was arrested. What should have been an ordinary day turned into a moment of deep fear, pain, and uncertainty. That story disturbed me—not only because of what happened to this...
